Two Roots Outreach Ministry Inc was founded with a simple but deeply intentional mission: to meet immediate needs with compassion, dignity, and practical support while reminding people they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

We serve individuals and families facing hardship, crisis, and transition through outreach efforts rooted in faith, kindness, and community care.

What began through dignity boxes and small acts of service continues to grow into a larger vision of hope, restoration, and practical support for our community.

Why “Two Roots”?

The name “Two Roots” carries deep personal and spiritual meaning for our family.

Our family was formed from two separate roots becoming united as one — a reminder that God brings restoration, healing, and new beginnings through His grace. It also reflects our belief that while our roots and past experiences may shape us, they do not define who we are or who we can become through Christ.

We believe restoration begins at the root. Through faith, compassion, and practical support, our mission is to help others find hope, healing, dignity, and the opportunity for a new path forward.

No matter where someone comes from or what they have walked through, we believe every person has value, purpose, and the ability to grow beyond their past.

Meet Our Founders
Two Roots Outreach Ministry Inc was founded from lived experiences of hardship, healing, faith, restoration, and the desire to help others walking through difficult seasons of life.

Megan Kidwell

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Megan’s passion for outreach and ministry was shaped through a lifetime of overcoming hardship, instability, trauma, and generational addiction.

Entering the foster care system as a child and later experiencing abuse, unhealthy relationships, and the long-term effects of addiction within her family, Megan understands firsthand what it feels like to struggle, feel unseen, and search for hope in difficult places. As a young mother, she endured years of domestic abuse and the devastating impact of addiction within her home before ultimately finding the strength to leave and begin rebuilding her life.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, healing, and years of personal growth and recovery from trauma, Megan discovered a deep calling to serve individuals and families facing crisis, hardship, addiction, homelessness, domestic violence, and life transition.

Her heart for ministry comes from lived compassion, believing that no person is defined by their past, their pain, or where they come from. Through Two Roots Outreach Ministry Inc, Megan hopes to help others experience dignity, hope, healing, and the reminder that restoration is possible.

Cole Kidwell

Co-Founder & Outreach Director

Cole’s heart for outreach ministry was born through personal experience with addiction, recovery, redemption, and the life-changing power of faith.

For over fifteen years, Cole struggled with severe substance addiction that began socially and progressively led into opiate dependency and intravenous heroin use. Through the darkest seasons of addiction, he experienced the destruction, brokenness, dishonesty, and pain that substance abuse brings not only to individuals, but also to families and entire communities.

Although he was raised within a loving family deeply rooted in Christian faith, addiction led him down a difficult path that ultimately resulted in repeated failed recovery attempts, overdoses, and moments that forced him to confront the direction his life was heading.

After multiple attempts at rehabilitation, Cole entered recovery through The House of Prayer in Jamestown, North Carolina, where he experienced lasting transformation through faith, accountability, and personal healing. He has remained clean since and now carries a deep passion for helping others who are battling addiction, homelessness, crisis, and life transition.

His long-term vision is to one day help develop faith-based recovery and transitional support programs for individuals seeking freedom, restoration, and a new beginning.
